Welcome to the OHI Library

What Will the Library Look Like at Oak Harbor Intermediate?

The library will continue to be a welcoming hub for reading, discovery, and learning at Oak Harbor Intermediate. Although students will no longer have a traditional bi-weekly library class, teachers will bring their classes to the library every week for book selection and checkout.

  • Students will have regular opportunities to explore books, authors, genres, cultures, and topics that interest them.
  • The focus will be on helping students become independent readers who can make thoughtful choices about what they read.
  • The library will continue to provide access to engaging print and digital resources to support both reading and classroom learning.
  • The library will be managed and supported by our Library Tech, Mrs. Hebb. She will help students find books, check out materials, navigate the collection, and make the library a welcoming place for everyone.
  • Mrs. Hebb will also work with teachers to help support students’ reading needs and provide access to resources throughout the school year.
  • The library will remain a place where every student can discover something new, find a book they love, and build a lifelong love of reading.

Questions? Please feel free to reach out to Mrs. Hebb with any questions about the library, book checkout, resources, or how we can best support your students at jhebb@ohsd.net.
